Men's Lacrosse Loses To Hartford, 18-7

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The Boston College men's lacrosse team lost their seventh game of the season on Wednesday night to the Hartford Hawks at West Hartford, Conn. Rory Smith lead the Eagles with three goals and one assist on the evening. John Cella, Alex Gschwend, Kevin Dunphy, and David Dauphinais each scored a goal apiece. Ted Cella and Kevin Dunphy each added an assist in the game. With the loss, Boston College falls to 0-7 on the season while Hartford improves to 6-4.
The Hawks got started early on as they scored their first goal less than one minute into the game. They added two goals before Rory Smith started the Eagle scoring with about two minutes to play in the first quarter. John Cella followed suit scoring with only 0:34 before the end of the quarter, making the score 3-2. However, Hartford broke the game open dominating the second quarter with seven unanswered goals. The score was 10-2 at the break. In the third quarter, the Eagles were struck with four more goals before Rory Smith could interupt the Hartford streak with a goal assisted by Ted Cella. Alex Gschwend started the scoring in the fourth quarter with an unassisted goal before Hartford came back with four of their own in just over two minutes of play. Kevin Dunphy, Rory Smith, and David Dauphinais scored three of the last four goals scored in the game.
The Eagles will next take the field on Saturday, April 20 when they will host Green Mountain College at Alumni Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
