HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Following a convincing victory over Flordia International on Sunday in its opening game of the Homestead Challenge, the Boston College baseball team (4-4) fell to Duquesne University, 7-4, on a cold and windy day in Florida.
The Eagles were only able to accumulate six hits on the afternoon. However, two of their six hits came of the bats of senior Brian Macchi and junior Matt Lederhos. In the Eagles half of the fourth inning, both Macchi and Lederhos banged home runs. Freshman pitcher Mike Gauthier picked up the loss for the Eagles after coming in to the game in the fourth inning.
Boston College is back in action at 7 p.m. Wednesday when it takes on Lehigh University in its third game of the Homestead Challenge.
