CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College baseball team (3-3) will look to get back on its winning ways when it heads to Ft. Myers and Homestead, Fla. for its 2002 Spring Break excursion. This year's 10-day trip (March 1-10) begins with its annual meeting with Major League Baseball's Boston Red Sox.
This year's exhibition contest against the Red Sox will be played at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the City of the Palm Field, which is the Red Sox's main playing facility during spring training. The Eagles are a lifetime 0-11 against the Red Sox, which includes last season's 11-5 defeat.
Following their meeting with the Red Sox, the Eagles will take part in the Homestead Challenge. Boston College kicks its series of games off against Florida International at 2 p.m. Sunday. The Eagles look to rebound from last weekend's three-game sweep at the hands of California-Berkeley.
Following Sunday's game with FIU, the Eagles will take on Duquesne, Lehigh (twice), and St. Bonaventure in Homestead. The final two games of the trip are against Manhatten, which will take place in Ft. Myers at the Red Sox minor league training facility, and Yale, which is back at the City of the Palm Field.
