CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's soccer team defeated BIG EAST foe Syracuse University, 1-0 with twenty seconds remaining in regulation at Newton Campus Soccer Field. Boston College improves to 7-5-1 on the season (3-3-0 BIG EAST) while Syracuse falls to 2-7-2 (0-4-1 BIG EAST).
Sophomore Laina Ceddia tallied the lone goal for the Eagles at 89:40. Ceddia gathered the rebound off Lindsey Fairweather's rip from the top of the box and found the net for the Eagles.
Boston College dominated play, recording 18 shots to the Orangewomen's six. Syracuse goalkeeper Shannon Myers made six saves before giving up the goal at the end of the match. Freshman Kate Taylor gathered three saves for the Eagles to earn her fifth shutout.
The Eagles travel to Cambridge to face Harvard University Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
