October 02, 2002 | Football
Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College is taking steps to minimize the impact of Thursday's football game on area traffic, but commuters may want to be aware of heavier-than-usual traffic on roadways leading to Alumni Stadium.
As a member of the Big East Conference, Boston College is required to play an occasional Thursday night home game for national broadcast on ESPN. Thursday's game on October 10, which pits the BC Eagles against Virginia Tech, will begin at 7:45 p.m.
In order to minimize traffic and parking congestion on Thursday, Boston College will end class at 4:00 p.m. and will dismiss all non-faculty at 3 p.m.
Utilizing its usual football game-day traffic and parking plan, Boston College will send fans' cars to satellite parking locations in Needham and Brighton, as well as to BC's Newton and Chestnut Hill campuses. As always, BC encourages fans to take the T to the game whenever possible. The last T will leave Boston College at 12:15 a.m. after the game.
The following roads are expected to be most affected Thursday after 5 p.m.

Centre Street in Newton between the Pike and BC's Newton Campus
Exit 19A on Route 128 (Highland Avenue), near satellite parking lot
