Eagles Hold First Full Scrimmage of Fall

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Redshirt freshman quarterback Eric Boatwright was 21 for 25 in the air for 190, a touchdown and an interception as the Boston College football team held its first full scrimmage of fall practice. Freshman running back Brandon Brokaw was the leading rusher with 13 carries for 74 yards while senior Dedrick Dewalt had six receptions for 57 yards and redshirt freshman Grant Adams had six receptions for 41 yards.
"I know we played very hard today and competed very well," says Boston College head coach Tom O'Brien, who Eagles open the season on Sept. 1 at home against West Virginia. "We are at a tough time of the fall camp and have been in a two-a-days for over a week. I was impressed with the efforts of the players and their focus."
Freshman quarterback Quinton Porter was 15 of 20 in the air for 150 yards while classmate Ray Henderson was 7 of 11 for 44 yards and an interception.
Sophomore Derrick Knight ran the ball 16 times for 61 yards while sophomore Greg Toal had nine carries for 27 yards. Senior Ryan Read had four receptions for 29 yards while junior Jamal Burke had two reception for 40 yards, including a 25-yard for a touchdown from Boatwright.
On defense, redshirt freshman Peter Shean had nine tackles while junior Curtis Bolden had eight tackles with one for a loss and a sack. Junior Ralph Parent and sophomore Paul Cook each had an interception.
Junior quarterback Brian St. Pierre and junior running back William Green were held from the scrimmage with nagging injuries that O'Brien said should be cleared up within 48 hours.
