The 2000-01 Boston College hockey team, coming off a season in which it won the national title, visited Beacon Hill and took a tour of the Massachusetts State House on Thursday afternoon, May 3.
Upon their arrival, the Eagles were welcomed by Rep. Bob Havern (Arlington). The team was then recognized on the floor of the Senate, where Senate President Tom Birmingham congratulated the team.
The Eagles then visited the floor of the House of Representatives, where they received a warm welcome and rousing ovation from Speaker Tom Finneran and the representatives.
The team then met with Gov. Jane Swift in the Executive Office. Swift again congratulated the Eagles on their successful season. The Eagles presented the governor with two autographed hockey sticks. Swift is expecting twins.
