#59 Women's Tennis Shuts Out Providence

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's tennis defeated Providence on Saturday, April 7, by a score of 7-0 indoors at the Flynn Complex.
The Eagles began the match by capturing all three doubles matches and the doubles point in the early going. The team of senior co-captains Cynthia Tow and Kiren Fernando led the way, along with sophomores Anisha Fernando and Jessica Engel, and sophomore Brooke Moldenhauer and freshman Emily Hellberg all combined to win their doubles matches.
In singles the eagles did not even drop a set as they continued the shutout victory. Tow, K. Fernando, A. Fernando, Hellberg, Engel, and junior Angela Niznik all had straight set victories over the Friars.
The women's tennis team is currently 10-6 in dual matches and 5-1 in BIG EAST play. The women's tennis team will next see action against Boston University on Tuesday, April 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Harvard's Murr center.
