Women's Lacrosse Downed By Fifth Ranked Georgetown

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -The Boston College women's lacrosse team fell to fifth ranked Georgetown, 18-3, in a BIG EAST match-up at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Senior captain Emily Ryan lead the Eagles with two goals.
Opening the scoring in the game the Hoyas' Sheehan Stanwick scored two unassisted goals. The Eagles brought the score with in one when Chrisse DeMichele scored unassisted at 23:53. Georgetown's Erin Elbe and Gloria Lozano both score before the Eagles tallied their second goal. At 18:37, from behind the net, Lauren Miller threw the ball to Ryan, in front of the net, and Ryan hit it past Georgetown's goalie Chandler Vicchio.
Georgetown went on to score six more goal in the first half to take a 10-2 lead at the intermission.
The Eagle's lone goal of the second half came at 22:12 from Ryan. The Hoya's pulled farther away with the lead, scoring eight more goals to win 18-3.
In goal for the Eagles, Rachel Zeller stopped 12. For Georgetown, Vacchio saved seven.
Boston College will next face Virginia Tech on Sat., Mar. 31 at 11:00 a.m. at Alumni Stadium, in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
