CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Boston College men's tennis team recorded its third consecutive shutout victory, this time over Hartford with a score of 7-0, Tuesday, March 27, at the Flynn Complex.
The Eagles began the afternoon by winning the doubles point in the early going. The teams of senior Matt Stutz and freshman Brad Anderson, freshmen Justin Slattery and Paul Colahan, and sophomores Greg Comfort and Damon Vartabedian were all victorious in their doubles efforts winning three out of three doubles matches.
The Eagles captured all six singles matches in route to their sixth shutout victory of the year and third consecutive shutout victory at home. Slattery defeated Pedja Zdravkovis at the top singles spot and Anderson won his match at the second seed over Nemoka Bala. Senior Chris Mercurio, juniors Tim Brennan and Colin Kennedy, and freshman Ross Pytko all captured points for their singles wins over the Hawks.
The Eagles now have an overall dual match record of 9-8, 1-0 in the BIG EAST and will next see action at Marist, Friday, Mar. 30, at 2:00 p.m.
