Men's Tennis Finishes West Coast Swing With A Win

SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- The Boston College men's tennis team finished its matches out West with two losses and a win. The Eagles fell to BYU-Hawaii and Hawaii-Pacific before rounding out the weekend with a victory over University of California at San Diego.
Against BYU-Hawaii the Eagles fell by a score of 9-0 getting swept in singles and doubles. At Hawaii-Pacific things were much the same with the Eagles losing by a score of 7-0. The Eagles had played four matches in two days against tough Hawaiin teams who were relatively well rested.
The Eagles bounced back after a couple of days off to beat UCSD by a score of 4-3. Freshmen Justin Slattery, Brad Anderson and Paul Colahan combined to win three singles points and the teams of Slattery and senior Jason Cowett and Anderson and senior Matt Stutz won their doubles matches to secure the doubles point and a victory.
The Eagles finished the spring trip 2-3 and currently has a dual match record of 7-8 and 1-0 in the BIG EAST and will next see action at home on Thursday, March 15, at 3:00 p.m. against MIT.
