Eagles Take Six Victories At Husky Invitational

The women's track team competed at the annual Husky Invitational on Friday, April 22 in Dedham, Mass. The meet was hosted by Northeastern University. There were no team scores.
The Eagles took six victories, including five by freshmen. Christina Regan won both hurdle events, claiming the 100-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles in 16.23 seconds and 67.52 seconds, respectively. Jenifer Vendetti won the 400-meters in 58.52, while Nikki Pogue took top honors in the 200-meter dash in 26.61. Meghan Kearney earned the win in the discus with a toss of 123'5".
Sophomore Celeste Sedo outran New Hampshire's Lauryn Hancock to capture the 10,000-meter race in 40:53.56 seconds.
Boston College also received six other top-three finishes: Pogue (second- 100m), junior Kate Sullivan (second- 100m hurdles), 4x100m team (second), Regan (third- long jump), and Kearney (second- shot put, second- hammer).
The Eagles will next compete in the annual Harvard dual meet in Cambridge, Mass. on April 30.
