Eagles fall to Crosstown Rival Harvard, 13-9

The women's lacrosse team fell to Harvard University, 13-9, in a match played at Jordan Field on Harvard's Cambridge, Mass. campus today. Juniors Honor Crowther and Emily Ryan both led the Eagles with three goals apiece.
Harvard scored first, notching two goals in the game's opening minutes to open an early 2-0 lead over the visiting Eagles. Crowther and senior Susan Pitt tallied scores to even the score at 2-2, but the Crimson posted four successive goals, including one with 20 seconds left on the clock, to pull ahead 6-2 at the break.
Boston College stormed out of the intermission, notching four goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to once again pull the score even at 6-6. Harvard and BC then traded goals, with Crowther earning her third of the afternoon. But with 16:00 minutes left to play, Harvard scored three goals to begin to pull the game out of reach for the Eagles.
Ryan scored two goals in the closing 7:00 to play, but Harvard answered with four to bring the final score to 13-9.
Pitt added two goals and an assist for the Eagles, while sophomore Lauren Miller added a goal and two assists. Sophomore Kelly Boyle also chipped in as assist.
Boston College fell to 1-2 on the season and Harvard improved to 2-0.
The Eagles next play when they travel to Philadelphia to face Villanova and St. Joseph's on March 17 and 18.
