Senior Susan Pitt scored four goals, but the Boston College women's lacrosse team (1-1) could not find its way past Brown University, falling to the Bears, 13-8, in a rainy game played at Bentley College on March 11.
Brown (1-0) opened the scoring, netting four goals in the game's first ten minutes before Pitt notched her first two scores of the game. At the half, Brown led the Eagles, 8-4.
Brown opened the second half in the same manner as the first, scoring three goals before Boston College could crack the scoring column. Freshman Laura Ciekot scored the first of four Boston College second-half goals with 15:30 remaining. The Eagles held Brown scoreless for the game's final 14 minutes and posted three goals (two by Pitt and one by sophomore Lauren Miller), but could not bring the score within the final five-goal spread.
Other Boston College goal scorers were junior Julie Lufkin and junior Honor Crowther who each netted one goal apiece. Miller chipped in three assists, while Pitt and senior co-captain Jaime Baldante added one.
The Eagles will next face Harvard in Cambridge, Mass. on Wednesday, March 15, at 3:30 p.m.
