CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College goaltender Scott Clemmensen (Urbandale, IA) has earned HOCKEY EAST Goaltender of the Month honors for the month of October. Clemmensen had a 4-1 record with a 1.81 goals against average and a .931 save percentage in five games.
The senior began the season with 61 combined saves against Notre Dame and Nebraska-Omaha, leading the Eagles to the Maverick Stampede championship. He garnered HOCKEY EAST Defensive Player of the Week accolades after giving up only one goal in each game.
Clemmensen also earned wins at Denver Oct. 21 (23 saves, two goals against) and against UMass-Amherst Oct. 29 (seven saves, one goal against).
Among the conference leaders in each goaltending category, Clemmensen's 1.81 goals against average and 108 saves places him second in both categories, and his .931 saves percentage is good for third.
Last February Clemmensen won HOCKEY EAST Goaltender of the Month honors when he recorded a 3-1-0 mark with a 1.09 goals against average and a .957 save percentage in five games.
Last season he captured HOCKEY EAST's Heaton Goaltender of the Year Award for the lowest goals against average in league play (1.98).
