Boston College Game Quotes
Tom O'Brien, Head Coach Overall "I didn't expect that. We're happy that we came away with the victory. I think we're playing pretty well on offense right now. Our quarterback is playing well. Our line is doing a good job protecting and blocking. Our backs are running hard. Defensively we still have some things to get ironed out."
"I think Connecticut had a good plan on offense for us. I think they have some good players that played hard. We're just a little better than they are right now."
"It's a win. It's October and we won. I know what's coming down the road."
"We knew this was an important game for Connecticut, just like last year when we played Northeastern. You have to learn in a program that you just can't go up and down like a yo-yo. You have to prepare well every week."
"I spent most of the first half yelling at my players to make sure that they maintain their focus... It would have been easy for them to lose sight and not focus on what was going on. I've got to do my best not to let that happen."
On William Green "He's a good back. We've known that he's a good back. I've always had good tailbacks and you always need more than one."
On next week's game against Syracuse "We go back into conference. If we want to have a winning record and have a winning record in conference it has to start now. We're 0-2 and we have four conference games in a row. We know Syracuse has been one of the toughest schools to play here. We jump right back into the fire. Who knows, they may be better than Virginia Tech."
William Green, running back "I just focused all week on what I had to do. I did what I was coached to do. The offensive line did a really good job. The touchdowns that I scored I don't think I got touched. The offensive line did a heck of a job. I can't say enough about those guys today."

Connecticut Post Game Quotes
Randy Edsall, head coach
On Boston College "Pure and simple, we got man-handled today. We got beat by a bigger team, a stronger team, a faster team. It was one of those situations where I thought we needed a few positive things to happen for us early, but none of those things happened. When nothing positive happened for us early, it just steam-rolled and we couldn't stop it. I give credit to Boston College-they came in ready to play. They're a good football team that we're going to try to get to, and maybe we will get to someday, but we just got man-handled."
On his team's difficult schedule "We decided to play this schedule and that's what we have to do. If you can't get fired up to play this game, then you shouldn't be playing this game. No excuses, we got manhandled. It's that simple, we got manhandled. I should have done a better job coaching, obviously. I've had coaches tell me there are going to be days like this, and boy, you hope they never happen, but goddang, we had one today. I take the responsibility. It's my job to take the responsibility, and I'll take the responsibility."
On the interceptions his quarterback allowed "I've gone to the well too often with Ryan. Ryan Tracey is a beat-up young man. He got a hip-pointer on the very first series on the one where he tried to recover the fumble after the snap and he faltered the whole thing. I was concerned about him the whole game, with the knee, groin and sore shoulder, and maybe it caught up with him today."
On BC's running game "We had missed gap alignments, we were trying to slant so that they couldn't roll their big bodies off of us. We tried to do things between the front and the linebackers but didn't get coordinated. We tried to make the adjustments to do the things to take it away, but it just never got executed after the game."
On William Green in particular " I knew he was a good back. He ran hard and I give credit to their offensive line, but we did some things that made him look a little better than he should have."
On any positives his team can take away from the game "I'm sure there are some positives. I'll have to take a look at the tape to find out a little bit more, but right now it's hard. We did some things defensively early... we stopped them and when they got the interception we held them to a field goal when they're at point-blank range, and that was a positive. There weren't a whole lot of positives to take from it, though."
