Baseball Prepares for Final Regular-Season Series

CHESNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College will play its final regular-season series against West Virginia on May 15-16. The Eagles and Mountaineers will play a doubleheader on Saturday, May 15 and will finish the three-game series on Sunday, May 16.
BC enters the final weekend with the highest team batting average in the nation. The Eagles are hitting .359 after 45 games this season. They rank 13th among all Division I teams averaging 9.40 runs per game.
Leading the offense for BC is senior first baseman Sean McGowan.
McGowan has hit 24 home runs in 44 games and is tied for first among all Division I hitters with 0.54 homers per game.
The senior slugger is tied for 14th in the nation with a .430 batting average and ranks 10th in Division I with 1.55 RBIs per game.
This season, McGowan has set the BC single-season record for home runs, RBIs and hits (74). He is tied with Michael Martin atop the BC career hit list with 205 hits.
