CHESTNUT HILL - Sophomore forward Ales Dolinar scored two goals and junior goaltender Scott Clemmensen made 24 saves to lead Boston College to a 3-0 non-league win over Harvard before a crowd of 6,014 in Kelley Rink.
The game was Boston College?s second consecutive shutout. The Eagles blanked Merrimack, 4-0, on Dec. 7. The last time BC recorded back-to-back shutouts was in January 1998, when the Eagles blanked three consecutive opponents.
The shutout was the the sixth of Clemmensen?s career, tying him with Joe Carroll (1951-54) for second place on the school?s career list.
The game was the 100th contest between Boston College and Harvard. BC holds a 55-41-4 advantage in the series, which began on Jan. 31, 1919.
Boston College (8-5-0) scored one goal in each period. Dolinar opened the scoring with a shorthanded tally at 12:49 of the first period, then doubled the BC margin at 1:49 of the middle period. Senior Blake Bellefeuille added an insurance goal at 11:25 of the third period.
Clemmensen made 24 stops to earn the game?s first-star honors. Harvard senior J.R. Prestifilippo finished with 19 saves.
The loss dropped Harvard to 5-5-0.
Boston College returns to action against Dartmouth on Dec. 29 in the first round of the Vermont Hockey Classic in Burlington, Vt.
