Bellefeuille Leads Hockey to 4-1 HOCKEY EAST Win

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. ? Senior forward Blake Bellefeuille scored one goal and added three assists to lead Boston College to a 4-1 HOCKEY EAST win over UMass-Lowell before a crowd of 4,423 at Kelley Rink.
Boston College?s special teams accounted for three of the team?s four goals. The host Eagles netted two power-play goals in the first period, and added a short-handed tally in the second period.
Boston College (5-1-0) led 3-0 after one period. After junior Brian Gionta opened the scoring 53 seconds into the contest, Bellefeuille?s man-advantage goal at 2:59 gave BC a 2-0 lead. Senior Jeff Farkas finished the period?s scoring, netting a power-play tally at 19:31. The goal was Farkas? ninth of the season.
UMass-Lowell forward Nick Carso netted an unassisted goal at 6:42 of the second period to cut the BC lead to 3-1. BC junior Mike Lephart finished the scoring with a short-handed goal at 9:25 of the same period. Bellefeuille and senior Mike Mottau assisted on Lephart?s goal.
BC junior goaltender Scott Clemmensen made 20 saves, while UMass-Lowell netminder Cam McCormick stopped 24 shots.
Boston College returns to action on Friday, Nov. 12 at Northeastern. Game time is 7 p.m.
