Mark McDevitt was promoted to associate head coach with the Boston College women's soccer program in January of 2016. Prior to his promotion, McDevitt was an assistant coach for three seasons. He was hired in May of 2013.
A native of Derry, Northern Ireland, McDevitt works with the goalkeepers as well as the team defense. He helped develop Alexandra Johnson, who started 17 games in 2013 and 15 in 2014 before suffering an injury. In the 2015 season, McDevitt was intergral in the development of red shirt freshman Alexis Bryant, who started 15 games the the NCAA Tournament bound Eagles.
As a player, McDevitt played on a national championship team at the University of Ulster, Magee, won two national championships with his high school team, and also captained his club team to both indoor and outdoor national championships. Additionally, McDevitt represented Northern Ireland at various under age levels, and was selected for the Ireland Universities National team in his senior year of college. McDevitt moved to the US in 2000 when he accepted a position with Global Premier Soccer in MA.
He has held a variety of positions in his 13 years with Global Premier Soccer, the most recent being as General Manager of its New Hampshire office. McDevitt was also the associate head coach of the Boston Renegades W League team during the 2007 and 2008 seasons.
A graduate of the University of Ulster, Magee in 2000, McDevitt earned a business degree in business studies with a specialization in entrepreneurship. He is also a USSF B license coach.
