Boston College softball head coach Amy Kvilhaug has announced the hiring of Lexi Robles to the Eagles' coaching staff. Kvilhaug is very familiar with the newest hire to the Team 39 coaching staff with Robles playing four years under Kvilhaug at St. John's from 2014-2017.
Robles helped the Eagles to a second straight season in which they increased their win total. The defense ranked third in the ACC with 23 turned double plays with a .958 fielding percentage.Â
"We are excited about Lexi coming to BC," said Kvilhaug. "She has an elite defensive mind and will be in charge of running the infield and outfield defense for us this season. As a student-athlete for me, Lexi was an excellent leader on the infield and knew how to direct the team in any given situation as a player. Lexi will undoubtedly have our defense well prepared and confident to execute. She hails from SoCal, where softball talent is vast, and will be instrumental in helping us bring in student-athletes from that region."
In her four years at St. John's, Robles excelled defensively in the infield with only one error during her senior year.
"I am super excited to be back out on the field and a part of this amazing coaching staff," said Robles. "I am so grateful that Coach K has given me this opportunity to go from a former player to now a part of her staff. Everyone at BC has been very helpful and welcoming, I couldn't have asked for a better experience."
