Cameron Johnson enters his third season as Boston College's director of player personnel.Â
He came to Boston College from the San Antonio Spurs, where he spent three years working as a video and player development assistant. In that role, he worked closely with the on-court development of Spurs' rookies, while also creating team and individual player scouting reports and breakdowns. He also managed and trained rising video operations assistants and guest coaches throughout the offseason.
Johnson was a four-year starter for head coach Earl Grant at the College of Charleston. A three-time CAA All-Defensive team selection, Johnson was a three-time team captain who finished his career with 1,134 points. He led the Cougars in scoring as a sophomore (12.3 ppg), en route to earning All-CAA third team honors.
Originally from Athens, Ga., Johnson was the 2014 Regional 8A Player of the Year and the Player of the Year by the Athens Banner-Herald., while also earning All-State honors. A two-sport athlete, Johnson was also recruited as a quarterback but decided to focus on basketball in college.
