• Bill Sheridan arrived at BC in the spring of 2018 as the linebackers coach after spending the previous 13 seasons as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator for four NFL teams.
• Promoted to defensive coordinator in the spring of 2019.
• Coached a BC linebacker unit that featured All-ACC backer Connor Strachan, who led the team with 91 tackles and signed a NFL free agent contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
• Oversaw the development of sophomore Isaiah McDuffie and Max Richardson into two of the team's top tacklers and playmakers in 2018. BC's three leading tacklers last season were at the linebacker position.
• Helped the Detroit Lions to a pair of playoff appearances between 2014 and 2017.
• Coached All-Pro linebacker DeAndre Levy in 2014.
• Worked as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive coordinator from 2012-13.
• Oversaw two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl defensive lineman Gerald McCoy in Tampa Bay plus Pro Bowl and All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis and All-Pro linebacker Lavonte David.
• Spent two years as the linebackers coach with the Miami Dolphins from 2010-11; training two-time All-Pro and one-time Pro Bowl linebacker Cameron Wake.
• Began his NFL career as the linebackers coach for the New York Giants (2005-08) before being promoted to defensive coordinator (2009).
• Went to the playoffs four consecutive years with the Giants, including a Super Bowl XLII victory over the New England Patriots.
• Coached Pro Bowl linebacker Antonio Pierce (2006).
• Spent three seasons at Michigan (2002-04) under Lloyd Carr, including one as the linebackers coach (2002), in which he coached All-Big Ten member Victor Hobson, and two as the defensive line coach (2003-04). Additionally, served as the UM recruiting coordinator for two years (2002-03).
• Helped the Wolverines to Big Ten titles in 2003 and 2004; both resulting in Rose Bowl appearances.
• Coached at Notre Dame (2001) for one season as the safeties and special teams coach, where he worked with Steve Addazio, who served as the Fighting Irish’s offensive line coach.
• Worked at Michigan State (1998-00) as the linebackers coach for three seasons; coaching the first two seasons under head coach Nick Saban.
• Oversaw the development of First Team All-American Julian Peterson (1999), who produced a MSU record 30 tackles for loss, 15 sacks and was named the MVP of the Spartans’ victory at the 2000 Citrus Bowl at season’s end.
• Coached All-Big Ten performers Peterson (1999) and Josh Thornhill (2000) while at Michigan State.
• Served six years as an assistant coach at Army, including four as the linebackers coach (1992-95) and two as the defensive backs coach (1996-97).
• Helped Army finish No. 24 in the final 1996 USA Today poll with a 10-2 record and an appearance in the Independence Bowl.
• The Black Knights won five consecutive Army-Navy games during his first five seasons in West Point.
• Held positions at Maine (1987-88) and Cincinnati (1989-91) as the linebackers coach.
• Started his coaching career as an assistant coach at Shrine Catholic (Mich.) High School (1981-84). Moved into the college ranks as a graduate assistant at Michigan (1985-86) under Bo Schembechler.
