• Antoine Smith moved into a full-time coaching position beginning in spring 2018 as the defensive tackles coach after serving as the director of football initiatives in 2017.
• Begins his second year as defensive tackles coach for BC in 2019.
• Coached All-ACC nose tackle Ray Smith (third-team) in 2018 as Smith landed a NFL free agent contract with the Detroit Lions following the season.
• Mentored first-year starter Tanner Karafa into a 12-game starter in 2018 as he became one of the team's best defensive players.
• Spent the 2016 season as the defensive line coach at Texas State.
• Previously, he was the defensive line coach at James Madison (2014-15) and Holy Cross (2011-13).
• During his time at JMU, three Dukes earned All-CAA under his tutelage. At Holy Cross, he produced three All-Patriot League players.
• Worked as the defensive line coach at Miami (Ohio) (2009-10), Youngstown State (2006-08) and Lafayette (2004-05).
• Coached All-MAC performer Austin Brown at Miami (2010) and All-Conference and All-American Ian Best at Minot State (2002).
• Helped the RedHawks to the 2010 MAC title and a victory in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.
• Won a conference title and reached the NCAA FCS semifinals with Youngstown State in 2006.
• In his first stint in the Patriot League, he assisted in guiding Lafayette to a pair of Patriot League championships, two FCS playoff appearances and helped guide a defense that ranking ninth in the nation in scoring and 11th in total defense.
• Early in his coaching career, he was the defensive line coach at Maine (2003) and the defensive line coach/strength and conditioning coordinator at Minot State (2002) in North Dakota, where the Beavers won the DAC-10 Conference Championship.
• Earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and kinesiology from Maine in 2001 and his master’s degree in health and human performance from Minot State in 2004.
• Was a three-year starter at defensive tackle and a four-year letterwinner at Maine from 1996-99.
