Eagles Place Second at UConn Invitational at GreatHorse; Low Claims Runner-Up

HAMPDEN, Mass. — The Boston College Men's Golf team concluded the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse Tuesday afternoon, placing second overall, moving up four spots on the final day. The Maroon & Gold shot 1-under par to close out the invitational. Round two was originally scheduled to take place on Monday, Sept. 28, but was moved back a day due to inclement weather. Round three was then removed, moving the tournament from 54 to 36 holes.
The Eagles were led by Kieran Low, who finished tied for second place. Low came into the final day tied for 22nd. The freshman recorded a 5-under-par 67 in the second round and recorded the lowest final-round score of the day. Low recorded seven total birdies and did not bogey once in round two. He shot 1-under on both Par-3 and Par-5 holes, while being even on Par-4 holes.
William Musson also moved into the top 10 and finished tied for ninth at 3-over par with a 74 in round one and a 73 in round two. Musson, shooting even on Par-5 holes, recorded another two birdies and shot par a total of 25 times, tied for the most of the tournament.
Junior Tommy Mangan finished third for the Eagles, recording a two-over-par 74 in round two and was six-over par overall. Mangan shot even on Par-3 holes and finished tied for 21st.
Tony Yin concluded the invitational placing tied for 27th and improved on his first round score with a 74. Markus Lam also improved on the second day of play with a 73 and tied for 30th place. The senior shot 1-under on Par-5 holes.
Thomas Wang concluded the invitational tied for 21st place as the Eagles' individual. The freshman finished with five overall birdies and reccorded his best round to open the tournament with a 74.
The Eagles were the best on Par-3 (+3), second on Par-4 holes, and shot par the most (117).
Boston College will conclude the fall season back on the road at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Atlanta, Ga., hosted by Georgia Tech. Competition will start on Oct. 16 and conclude on Oct. 18.
