Bond becomes the first Eagle drafted by Houston since 1969
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Eagles wide receiver Lewis Bond was selected by the Houston Texans in the sixth round (204th overall) in the 2026 NFL Draft on Saturday.Â
The Chicago, Ill. native had a career year for the Eagles in 2025. A team captain for the first time in his career, Bond started all 12 games at wide receiver, totaling 88 receptions for 993 yards and one touchdown. He became Boston College's all-time leader in receptions, breaking a three-year record set by Baltimore Ravens first-round draft pick Zay Flowers.Â
In addition, Bond finished the season fourth nationally in receptions per game (7.3) and 23th in the country in total receiving yards (993) en route to All-ACC Second Team honors. Bond's 88 catches for 993 yards marked career-highs in each category. On top of that, Bond became the Eagles' first 900-yard receiver since Flowers achieved the feat in 2022, cementing himself as one of eight Boston College receivers to record 900 yards in a single season. He finished his career on The Heights with 2,385 career receiving yards, the fifth-most in school history.Â
Bond recorded 67 catches for 689 yards and three touchdowns for the Eagles en route to All-ACC Honorable Mention honors in 2024. Bond's 67 receptions were the sixth-most in school history at that time. In 2023, Bond finished the season with 52 receptions for 646 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He was just the sixth Boston College receiver since 1996 with at least 50 catches, 600 yards and seven touchdowns, and one of just six ACC receivers to reach those totals that season.Â
