Sailing Opens Spring Season with John Jackson TR Victory

Eagles go 9-1 to defeat hosts Georgetown
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College Sailing kicked off the 2026 spring slate this weekend, winning the John Jackson Team Race at Georgetown and finishing fourth at the Wood Trophy Team Race, hosted by Harvard.
The Eagles opened the John Jackson Team Race strong, completing the first day of competition with a 7-0 record. They then battled to the very end with hosts Georgetown, in a tiebreaking race, as the Eagles prevailed to win the regatta with a 9-1 record.
At the Wood Trophy Team Race, which was moved to Cranston, Rhode Island, due to poor conditions, Boston College finished day one with a 6-6 record, closing out the second day at 8-13 to finish fourth at the regatta.
The Eagles return to action next weekend, competing in three regattas down the East Coast. The team starts with the Geiger Team Race, hosted by MIT, on Saturday, March 14th, followed by the Graham Hall Team Race at Navy and St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race at SMC of Maryland, on March 13-14
