Eagles hold second practice during week two of Spring Ball
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The 2026 Boston College football program returned to the practice field on Thursday morning for its fifth of 15 spring practice sessions since the beginning of March.
The offense was firing on all cylinders to begin the one-on-one competitive team period between the Eagles' wide receivers and defensive backs. Freshman quarterback Femi Babalola threw three touchdown passes to open the period: one to Johnathan Montague Jr., one to Jackson Wade, and one to Landon Wright. This was not the last time Wright made an impact on the practice field.
The secondary found its groove later in the offensive drill, with Max Tucker and Ashton Cunningham each saving a touchdown with pass breakups in the end zone. Isaiah Farris added a pass breakup of his own in the middle of the field.
A strong running game kicked off the Eagles' opening team period. Bo MacCormack ripped off a pair of long runs before Nolan Ray added one of his own. The play of the morning came from Landon Wright, who hauled in a 65-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Grayson Wilson to send the team into the final competitive period of practice.
The defensive line ended practice on a high note, with Christian Hudson and Jayzen Flint each stopping the run game in its tracks. Second-year defensive back Rae Sykes Jr. forced a fumble on one of the final plays of Thursday's practice.
The Eagles will round out week two of spring practice on Saturday morning. Practices are closed to the public.
