Eagles begin week two of spring practice on Tuesday
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Week two of spring practice for the 2026 Boston College Football program kicked off on Tuesday morning inside Fish Field House.Â
At the conclusion of practice, Gregory P. Barber '69 and Family Head Coach Bill O'Brien spoke to the media, as well as wide receiver Jackson Wade and defensive back Carter Davis.Â
There was no let up on either side of the ball Tuesday morning, with some field goal and punting action added to the practice fold as well. A revamped wide receiver room made their presence felt from the first one-on-one snap, with VJ Wilkins hauling in a pair of touchdowns, and Jackson Wade and Duke Brennan adding one as well.Â
The Florida transfer Wade understands the weight that putting on the Boston College uniform holds.Â
"We came to Boston College to win. Everybody that stayed here wants to change the program and wants to win. Everyone is playing with a chip on their shoulder."
The run game asserted itself early in the opening team period of Tuesday's practice, with Nolan Ray and Mekhi Dodd breaking off a number of big runs.Â
While it's early in the spring practice calendar, Coach O'Brien recognized the work that the running backs have put in throughout the winter and in the beginning of the spring.Â
"I think the run game has looked pretty decent so far… I'm really happy with the way these guys approach every day. It's been good so far." Â
The defense would make their mark on Tuesday's practice as well, with Ashton Cunningham and Marcus Upton adding an interception each. It was sophomore Micah Amedee who forced pressure up the middle on the final down of the team's last competitive team period.Â
The veteran defensive back Davis realizes just how special the secondary can be.Â
"It definitely helps that we've played a lot of games, myself, KP [Price] and Max [Tucker]. They're going to look at us as leaders on the back end, but we've got some younger guys that are ready to step up."Â Â
The Eagles will be back on the practice field on Thursday morning for their fifth spring practice session in the month of March. Practices are closed to the public.Â
