Eagles held their second of three Week 1 spring practices on Thursday
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Day two of spring practice for the 2026 Boston College Football program was held Thursday morning inside Fish Field House. While the calendar reads March, the energy on both sides of the ball reflected a middle-of-August practice.Â
After practice, Kevin T. Fee Family Defensive Coordinator Ted Roof met with the media, along with newcomer defensive lineman KJ Sampson and second-year tight end Kaelan Chudzinski.Â
It was the defense that started off strong during competitive team periods, with second-year defensive back Ashton Cunningham jumping in front and picking off a pass. The sophomore pass catcher Chudzinski acknowledged the level of competition that the Eagles' defense brought on day two.Â
"We have a lot of good energy. The defense got after us a little bit today, so we need to be better as a unit. Everyone is bought in and there's a lot of spring left."Â
Coach Roof echoed Chudzinski's sentiments, praising his defense's effort through the first two spring practices while acknowledging it's still early in the spring.
"There are some good things we've done as a unit, but there are some areas where we still have a long way to go."
The offense would end Thursday's second spring practice on a high note, with quarterback Mason McKenzie finding the end zone on the last play of the day.Â
The Eagles wrap up week one with their third and final practice Saturday before beginning week two on Tuesday morning. Practices are closed to the public.Â
