FORT MYERS, Fla. – Boston College Baseball (5-5) fell to FGCU (10-2) in the series finale on Sunday afternoon, 4-3.

Brady Miller started for the Eagles in his season debut and went two scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Chase Hartsell, Kyle Kipp, and Sean Hard combined to pitch the rest of the game for Boston College.

FGCU got the scoring started in the bottom of the fourth inning when they got two runs on the board. Both runs came on RBI doubles, with the first down the right field line and the second on a fly to left field.

In the fifth, the Eagles got on the board when Nick Wang brought in Owen DeShazo from second on a single to center field.

In the sixth, Boston College struck again when Gunnar Johnson scored on a wild pitch that made it to the backstop, which tied the game at two. The Eagles then took the lead when Sean Martinez struck out, but dropped the third strike, which allowed Ben Williams to steal home and give Boston College the lead.

Hard came on in the bottom of the seventh to replace Kipp and worked out of a second and third with no outs jam to keep FGCU at bay.

In the bottom of the ninth, FGCU loaded the bases and on a single through the left side of the infield brought in a run, making it 4-3 to end the game.

Up Next: The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday night in Miami when they take on Florida International at 6:00 p.m.
