Tampa, Fla. - The Boston College Softball team (5-9) dropped two games on the second day of the USF Invitational facing Colgate and host USF on Saturday night.

Game 1 - BC 4 | COL 7

BC scored first in the opening inning as Sammy Horn drove in Kae DePerio with an RBI in the opening inning after DePerio's leadoff triple. Colgate would respond with a run of their own to tie up the game at 1-1.

Colgate added two runs in each the second and third inning to grab a 5-1 lead over the Eagles.

BC tacked on another run in the fifth, as Emma Knight delivered an RBI to bring home DePerio once again.

The Maroon and Gold kept fighting through the final frame, as Knight drove in DePerio again and Abby Ptak launched a solo home run over the left-field fence to spark a late rally. But the surge came up just short, as the Eagles fell 7-4 to the Raiders.

Game 2 - BC 1 | USF 7

In their second meeting of the season, the Eagles got behind early as the Bulls scored five runs over the first two innings.

BC got three hits in the top of the fourth inning with an RBI from pinch hitter Katelyn Deguire to put themselves on the board.

Ptak would add a single to left field in the sixth but the Bulls held on for a 7-1 victory.
