Late Surge Lifts Women’s Tennis to 4-3 Win at UMass

AMHERST, Mass. – The Boston College women's tennis team (5-1) rallied for a late 4-3 victory over UMass (2-1) Sunday evening at the Bay Road Tennis Center in Amherst.
The Minutemen took the doubles point, holding an advantage headed into singles play. Taking the first two singles points, UMass held a 3-0 lead over the Eagles.
Olivia Benton opened the scoring for the Eagles as she posted a win through three sets. After beginning down a set and two love, Benton rallied to win 11 straight games, taking the match 6-7 (2), 6-2, 6-2 win in No. 1 singles. Leyden Games recorded a 6-4, 6-2 win in No. 4 singles. Nadia Barteck tied up the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory in fifth singles. Freshman Bella Camacho split sets with UMass Amherst's x x, before x retired due to an injury.
The Eagles took the match 4-3.
