Grier Nets Career High in Setback at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Boston College women's basketball fell to RV/No. 25 Notre Dame, 94-60, on Thursday evening in Purcell Pavilion. The Eagles fall to 4-14 and 0-5 in the ACC, while the Fighting Irish improve to 11-4 and 3-2 in the league.
Jocelyne Grier netted a career-high 18 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field, while she scored 16 of her points in the second half. Lily Carmody shot 6-for-8 en route to 13 points. Amirah Anderson led BC with six rebounds, and Athena Tomlinson dished out five assists.
Notre Dame jumped out to a 6-0 start before a Kayla Rolph 3-pointer cut the lead in half. However, the hosts shot over 60 percent in the first quarter, stretching the lead to 24-7 by the end of the quarter.
The Fighting Irish wouldn't relinquish its double-digit lead the rest of the way. ND scored 42 of its points in the paint, shot 65 percent and netted 17 second-chance points. BC did improve in the last two periods, shooting 50 percent from the floor.
The Eagles round out the road swing on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Virginia Tech on ACC Network.
