Women’s Hockey Falls to Maine,3-4

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College erased a one-goal deficit and pulled within one late, but Maine held on for a 4–3 win Friday night at Conte Forum.
The Black Bears opened the scoring early in the second period, but the Eagles responded on the power play at 3:33 when Olivia Maffeo finished a feed from Emma Conner and Ava Thomas to tie the game, 1–1.
Maine regained the lead midway through the period and carried a 2–1 advantage into the third after scoring twice in the opening 6:05. Boston College answered with a pair of even-strength goals in the final seven minutes. Ava Thomas cut the deficit to one at 13:29, and Lauren Glaser pulled the Eagles within one again at 19:03, finishing a pass from Maxim Tremblay and Emily Mara.
The Eagles pushed late with the net empty but were unable to find the equalizer.
Grace Campbell made 35 saves, while Boston College finished with 35 shots. Thomas led the Eagles with a goal and an assist.
