Boldy and Hanifin Named to U.S. Olympic Roster

Two former BC standouts set to represent the United States at the 2026 Winter Olympics
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Former Boston College men's hockey standouts Matt Boldy and Noah Hanifin were named to the United States Olympic roster for the Milano Cortina 2026 Games, announced Friday morning by USA Hockey on NBC's TODAY Show.Â

Boldly has played 41 games this season for the Minnesota Wild, posting 47 points on 25 goals and 22 assists. He is currently tied for second in the NHL in goals and is tied for 10th in points, both of which are a team-high for Minnesota. In 326 career games in the NHL, the Massachusetts native has 127 goals and 164 assists for 291 points.

Boldly played for Team USA during the 4 Nations Face-Off, skating in all four games and finished with one goal and two assists. He previously suited up for the U.S. for the 2024 and 2023 IIHF Men's World Championships. He finished the 2024 tournament as the top scorer, posting 14 points on six goals and eight assists.

Hanifin has skated in 28 games for the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2025-26 season, posting 14 points on two goals and 14 assists. Across 786 career games for Vegas, Calgary and Carolina, he has tallied 339 points on 74 goals and 265 assists.

Hanifin has also represented Team USA multiple times, most recently at the 4 Nations Face-Off during the 2024-25 campaign. He has appeared in three Men's World Championships, skating in 28 games across the 2019, 2017 and 2016 tournaments.

Additionally, Bill Guerin, a 2017 inductee into the BC Varsity Club Hall of Fame and two-year player for the program before beginning his NHL career, is the general manager for the team.

The U.S. will open Olympic competition against Latvia on Feb. 12 at 9:10 p.m. local (3:10 p.m. ET) in preliminary round play at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
