January 17, 2026 | Men's Hockey
Luka Radivojevic scores first collegiate goal; James Hagens and Radivojevic finish with three points each
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 12/13 Boston College men's hockey team was unable to overturn a three-goal deficit, falling to No. 14/14 Providence by a score of 4-3 on Saturday evening at Schneider Arena. Ryan Conmy, Andre Gasseau, and Luka Radivojevic each scored for the Eagles. James Hagens posted three assists while Radivojevic also had two assists to finish with three points. Louka Cloutier made 34 saves between the pipes.
Boston College moves to 11-8-1 overall and 7-5-0 in Hockey East while Providence is now 13-7-2 overall and 8-3-1 in league play.
The Friars opened the scoring early in the first period after John Mustard was able to put home a shot off a rebound from several saves by Cloutier.
The Eagles responded a few minutes later with a power play goal as a shot by J. Hagens from the blue line was tipped by Gasseau in front of goal and redirected past Providence goaltender Jack Parsons. Providence answered with a power play goal of their own when Julius Sumpf found Tanner Adams in front of the net for the tap in.
PC doubled its lead before the end of the opening period off a shot into the top corner by Jonathan Fauchon. The Friars pushed the lead to three after Logan Sawyer was able to capitalize on a 3v1 in front of goal.
Boston College added its second power play goal of the night late in the middle frame when Conmy picked out the top corner on a one-timer from the right faceoff circle off a pass from Radivojevic during a 5v3 advantage for the Eagles.
Late in the third, BC went on its second five-minute power play of the night, and capitalized immediately after the faceoff. Dean Letourneau won the faceoff and the puck went to J. Hagens. The sophomore had space in front of him and fired a shot towards goal. His shot was saved by Parsons, but the rebound fell to Radivojevic for the one-timer into the back of the net to make it a one-goal game.
The Eagles pulled Cloutier in favor of the extra attacker for the final few minutes in search of the equalizer, but the Friars limited BC's chances at goal and held on for the win.
