
Eagles fall to No.2 North Carolina at Home

Newton, Mass. - Boston College (3-6, 0-3 ACC) battled No. 2 North Carolina (9-1, 3-1 ACC) in a 2-1 defeat in Newton on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles defense shined through the first half with seven saves from goalkeeper Charlotte Kramer and a defensive save by Martina Giacchino to keep the score knotted up going into halftime.
With an assist from Alex De Cain, Melea Weber deflected in the first goal of the game in the middle of the third quarter.
UNC responded with a goal of their own off a penalty corner toward the beginning of the fourth quarter to tie it up 1-1. In the 56th minute the Tar Heels were awarded a penalty stroke taken by Sanne Hak for the winning goal of the game putting UNC up 2-1 over the Eagles.
The Tar Heels lead the game in shots (17-7), shots on goal (13-2) and corners (9-3) while BC led in saves (9-1).

Next Sunday the Eagles stay close to play Northeastern at 12 p.m. on Dedham Field.
