MINNEAPOLIS, Minn – Freshman Ava Thomas scored in the 7-1 loss against No. 3 Minnesota on Thursday night, in the season opener.
The Gophers took a 1-0 lead midway through the first period and they tacked on four more to 5-0 entering the second intermission. Minnesota recorded one more goal in the second frame before the Eagles lit the lamp. Ava Thomas found the back of the net after Alanna Devlin dished her the puck from behind the net. The Gophers tacked on one more in the final frame.
