
No. 13 Eagles fall to No.3 Virginia in ACC Opener

Charlottesville, Va. - No.13 Boston College (3-4) fell to the No.3 ranked Virginia (5-0) in a 2-0 loss on Friday night in Charlottesville in the ACC opener.
The Hoos struck first at the end of the first quarter with a successful corner to give Virginia the early advantage.
The remainder of the first half would go back and forth, with both teams trading chances and each earning two penalty corners.
The third quarter was the best for BC as they got off three shots against Virginia's defense that resulted in three saves from their goalie.Â
BC pulled the goalie with just under three minutes left to play which allowed the second goal from UVA. The Eagles had the edge in shots (8-5) and shots on goal (6-3), while the Hoos had the edge on saves (6-1).

The Eagles are back in action on Sunday at 12 p.m. as they take on the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest on the road. The game will be broadcast on ACCN.
