
Leigh Finishes with Last Second Shot to Defeat the Hoosiers

Orono, ME - No. 8 Boston College (2-0) defeated the Indiana Hoosiers (0-1) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon to remain perfect during opening weekend.
The Eagles got on the board in the first quarter with a quick goal from freshman Caroline Chisholm, her first goal in a BC uniform receiving the assist from Madeline Leigh.
The Hoosiers tied up the game in the third quarter leaving the fate of the game to the final quarter.
The Eagles went back and forth with the Hoosiers for the entirety of the fourth quarter until earning a penalty corner in the last two seconds of the game. Eva Kluskens passed the ball into Martina Giacchino assisting Leigh with the game winning shot, her first of her career.
The Eagles had the edge in shots (8-3), shots on goal (6-1) and penalty corners (7-5), while the Hoosiers had the edge in saves (4-0).Â

Boston College will travel down to North Carolina for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge to and are set to face No.4 Maryland Sept. 5 and No.1 Northwestern Sept. 7.
