Eagles running back applauded as a student-athlete using his platform for serving others
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Eagles' running back Alex Broome was named to the 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy Watchlist, college football's premier award for community service. A record 116 players were nominated for the award presented by Allstate and the National College Football Awards Association.Â
"I think that's a big part of what I do here at Boston College. It's a big part of who I am as a person," said Broome. "We've been privileged to have the opportunity to play at an elite institution, and part of your duty is going out in the community and being men and women for others, like we say here at Boston College."
Originally from Nashville, Broome missed the 2024 season due to injury. A key participant in the Field of Dreams day on June 11, as BC Football partnered with the Beautiful Lives Project at Fish Field House, Broome works tirelessly with community service initiatives both on and off campus:
The 2025 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists and recipient will be selected by a national voting committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2025 recipient will also serve as Captain of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 12th, airing on ESPN.
