
Trio of Eagles Named to 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar Team

Christian Emmerich, Jack Pogorelc, and Brian Xu honored for their academic prowess
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — A trio of Boston College men's golfers were honored as 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars.
Christian Emmerich, Jack Pogorelc, and Brian Xu were recognized for their academic excellence; a total of 556 NCAA Division I athletes from 190 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.Â
Emmerich appeared in eight tournaments in 2024-25, registering an adjusted stroke average of 74.1 over 24 rounds of play. Â He logged two top 10 finishes, including finishing sixth at the Red Bandanna Invitational and tying for eighth at the Shark Invitational.
Pogorelc played in all nine events (27 rounds) in 2024-25, with an adjusted scoring average of 73.6. Â He finished no lower than 11th during the fall, led by his finish at the Nassau Intercollegiate (t6th). Â He tied for third at the Shark Invitational in the spring.
Xu made eight starts and played 24 rounds for the Eagles, with an adjusted scoring mark of 75.3 per round. Â His best finish of the season came at the Shark Invitational in the spring, tying for eighth place.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
