
Team USA Wins Gold at Pala Championships

AUBURNDALE, Fla. - Team USA captured gold with a 21-11 win over Canada at the Pan-American Women's Lacrosse Championship in Auburndale, Fla.Â
The Eagles were well represented on Team USA, with nine players, Schiller Family Head Coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein, and director of operations, Jen Kent.Â
Kenzie Kent tied for the team lead with four points, recording one goal and three assists, and Rachel Clark and Charlotte North scored twice. Emma LoPinto and Cassidy Weeks chipped in with a goal in the victory. Sam Apuzzo led the way with six draw controls, and Sydney Scales totaled two caused turnovers. Shea Dolce played 30 minutes, finishing with a pair of stops.Â
LoPinto led Team USA with 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points, giving the attacker 71 points in the last two international tournaments. She set a Team USA record with 49 points last summer in the U20 World Championship. Kent paced the leaderboard with 11 assists, while Sydney Scales and North were named to the All-Tournament Team. Scales ended the tournament with eight caused turnovers and North totaled 11 goals and six helpers for 17 points.Â
For Shea Baker, Dolce, and LoPinto, it's the second time in as many summers the trio have won a championship with Team USA, as they captured gold in the U20 World Championship. Apuzzo, Kent (alt), and North played with the Senior Team when they won gold in the 2022 World Championships. The 2026 World Championship is scheduled to take place next summer in Tokyo.Â
