6-9 Combo Transfer from Missouri joins the Eagles for the 2025-26 season
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Aidan Shaw has committed to Boston College to continue his academic and athletic career as a member of the men's basketball program, head coach Earl Grant announced. Â A transfer from Missouri, he will have one season of eligibility remaining with the Eagles in 2025-26.
Shaw - a 6-9, 210-pound combo guard/forward - spent his previous three seasons with the Tigers, appearing in 92 games while earning 12 starts. Â Originally from Overland Park, Kan., Shaw connected on better than 64% of his shot attempts (115-179) over his previous three collegiate seasons - ranking him 39th nationally among all active players during that time span (100 FGM minimum).
"We are extremely excited to have Aidan join our program. He brings tons of experience and understands what it takes to win," Grant said. Â "He plays with great energy on both ends of the floor. His length, athleticism, and speed will impact our program tremendously. He's a great slasher and has the ability to hit the perimeter shot as well. We look forward to getting him to campus and help him diversify his game."
This past season, Shaw was a key contributor for nationally ranked Missouri and its run to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. Â He connected on nearly 64% from the floor, averaging nearly 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in nine minutes per outing. Â
He had a season-high 11 points against Memphis - his fifth career game in double-digits. During his MU career, Shaw led the Tigers in rebounding on 11 occasions. As a sophomore during the 2023-24 season, Shaw ranked 10th in the SEC in blocked shots, tallying 36 total swats (1.13 mpg).Â
Off the court, Shaw shined in the classroom. Â He was a member of the 2022-23 SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll and the 2023-24 SEC Academic Honor Roll.
A top 60 national prospect coming out of Blue Valley H.S., Shaw was a four-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports and was the third rated player out of the state of Kansas. Â A two-time All-State honoree, he earned the 2022 DiRenna Award, given annually to the player of the year in the Kansas City metro area by the Kansas City Coaches Basketball Association. Â He won the High School Slam Dunk Contest at the site of the 2022 NCAA Final Four.
