
Erin Houpt Commits to Women's Basketball

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's basketball staff is excited to announce the signing of Erin Houpt for the 2025-26 season.

Houpt, a 5-6 guard from Danville, Ill., spent the last two years with San Diego State, playing one season with the Aztecs in 2024-25. Houpt contributed to SDSU's 25-10 mark, a Mountain West tournament title, and an NCAA Tournament berth last season.
She averaged 4.8 points per game in 34 appearances with 13 starts while shooting 45 percent from the field, 46.4 percent from deep and 93.2 percent from the line. Â Houpt scored in double figures in six contests and set the single-season 3-point field goal percentage record.Â
Before SDSU, Houpt spent two seasons at Mercer, averaging 10.8 points, and 2.1 rebounds, shot 41.2 percent from deep and 94 percent from the charity stripe.Â
She was named the 2021-22 SoCon Freshman of the Year after turning in 9.1 points, shooting 40 percent from 3-point land and 91.1 percent from the line. The incoming Eagle registered three games with 20-plus points and 12 games in double figures.Â
Houpt finished second on the team in scoring in 2022-23 averaging a personal-best 12.6 points and 2.7 rebounds. She carded 17 games in double figures, highlighted by a 28-point performance against Texas Tech. She posted four games with 20-plus points and a 31-point performance with nine trifectas against Wofford.Â
For her career, the sharpshooter has shot 43.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 93 percent from the free-throw line with averages of 8.5 points, 1.75 rebounds, and one assist per game.Â
Houpt scored 2,208 points at Danville High School, was a two-time conference player of the year and two-time AP all-state selection. She averaged 27.6 points, 2.9 steals and 2.3 assists for her senior season.Â
