Sailing Secures Two Top-Five Finishes

The Eagles have landed in the top-five in 10 of their 15 races this season
BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College Sailing team competed in three races this past weekend, securing two second place finishes in the Oberg Trophy and the Thompson Trophy and a seventh place finish in the NEISA Women's Team Race Conference Championship. The Eagles now have 10 top-five finishes this season.
In the Oberg Trophy, hosted by MIT, the Eagles took second place in a crowded field of 17 schools. Ryan McGauley, Griffin Gigliotti, and Roger Casellas served as the skippers, while Paige Roby, Aiesha Shekhar, and Abbie Catalano were the crew. Full results for the Oberg Trophy can be found here.
Up in New London, BC sailed to a second place finish in the Thompson Trophy, going 13.5-7. Jack Redmond, Peter Joslin, Michael Kirkman, Peter Busch, and Alex Lech were the skippers, while Nick Budington, Lanie Ferrarone, Brendan Peary, Matthew Budington, Redmond, Lech, and Emily Marlas were the crew. In the NEISA Women's Team Race Conference Championship hosted by Brown, the Eagles secured seventh place of 10 teams, going 3-6. Kate Joslin, Sara Schumann, and Caroline Sibilly acted as the skippers, while Ainsley West, Gabrielle Trinter, and Sophia Hacket were the crew. Full results can be found here.
