BC Sits in Sixth Place After Opening Day of Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON, Ore. -- After day one at the Bandon Dunes Championship, Boston College sits in sixth place overall with a team score of 303. Â Only seven strokes separate second and sixth place through the first 18 holes of play.
Leading the way in round one were a pair of BC golfers Jack Pogorelc and Tommy Mangan. Â Pogorelc was 2-over, carding a 73. Â He made four birdies on the day. Mangan, competing as an individual, was also steady through the first round of action, registering three birdies.
Ben Hong sits one stroke back, with an opening day 74 - good for 14th place. Â Markus Lam and Brian Xu are tied for 41st place, each carding first round 78's. Â Christian Emmerich (80) is tied for 65th place.
BC returns to action tomorrow for round two at the Bandon Dunes Championship. Â The Eagles will tee off at 11:30 a.m. in shotgun format.
