Rowing Varsity 4+ Finishes First in Gummy Bear Bowl

BOSTON, Mass. – The Boston College women's rowing team finished first place in the Varsity 4+ race, finishing 18 seconds ahead of Boston University's Lightweights, Saturday morning at the annual Gummy Bear Bowl.
The Varsity 8+ got the morning started for the Eagles coxed by Madelyn Stevens with rowers Lucy Barratt, Lauren Bauer, Rachele Papineau, Lauren Meath, Jennie Sherwood, Leighton Smith, Leighton Davis and Grace Yi. Boston College finished the course in a time of 7:19.8. Boston University's Lightweights finished with a winning time of 7:12.4.
The Second Varsity 8+, a team of coxswain Caroline Jennings, and rowers Lauren Craven, Jill Reichenbach, Sierra Ross, Brooke Picazio, Neave Anderson, Kirsten Thorn, Leighton Smith and Claire Piacentini posted a time of 7:41.7, finishing just .7 seconds behind BU Lightweights. BU posted a winning time of 7:41.
The Varsity 4+ defeated the terriers as V4A and V4B finished ahead of the BU Lightweights. The first Varsity 4+, coxed by Lucy Fortner with rowers Ruby Barnett, Amelia Sanger, Jo McTamney and Elizabeth Cobb, finished at 8:55.5. The second Varsity 4+, coxed by Kendra Schmidt with rowers Olivia Hankey, Chloe Wilkinson, Quinn Baker and Jose Hohenrieder finished right behind with a time of 9:07.3. BU finished third, recording 9:13.4. BC's third Varsity 4+ coxed by Chloe Reisinger with rowers Ella Davis, Avery Lehmann, Reagan Rock and Molly Welch, finished with a time of 9:25.7. The N4 boat, coxed by Cassidy Ferron with rowers Eva Kelliher, Molly O'Connell, Anabelle Guarnera and Viviana Mercado, finished with a time of 10:28.6.
