2v8 Posts First Place Finish, V8, V4, Novice 4 Second Place
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Boston College rowing team posted a strong performance at Head of the Fish Regatta with a first place finish by the 2v8+ and second place finishes for v8+, v4+, and the novice 8+ crews.
The Eagles closed their time in New York with a win from the 2v8+, multiple silver medals from v8+, v4+ and novice 8+ crews, and the fastest 3v race time of the Regatta posted by the 3v8+ crew.
"It's great to get in a full day of racing with the whole team, and to come away with a win in the 2v 8+ and multiple second place finishes against some strong competition," said head coach Grace Hollowell. "Also awesome to see the freshmen and the walk-ons getting their first racing experience as an Eagle. And a special shoutout to the 3v for being the fastest 3v at the regatta today! Looking forward to continuing to find speed in the next month!"

Boston College's 2V8+ recorded a first place finish, securing victories over Cornell, MIT, Colgate, Marist, Smith College, University at Albany, Middlebury, St.Lawrence, University of Rochester and Skidmore Rowing. The crew finished over two minutes ahead of the last crew. They recorded a time of 12:04.993.

The Varsity 8+ posted a second place finish, just 15 seconds behind first place Cornell. The crew finished ahead of Colgate, MIT, Marist, Smith, Middlebury, University at Albany, Skidmore, University of Rochester, URI, St. Lawrence, UVM, Ithaca, Cornell, Rensselaer, and Nazareth. They posted a time of 11:42.773.

Also posting a second place finish, the Varsity 4+ was behind first place Cornell, but ahead of 40 other boats. The crew recorded a time of 12:54.504.

The Novice 8+ recorded a second place finish as well, posting a time of 12:25.182, 15 seconds behind first place Cornell.
